Lovers of bridges and great railroad photography will be thrilled with our June 30th Zoom program, featuring Todd Halamka, author and photographer of the Summer Railroad Heritage cover story, “The Poetry of Railway Bridges.” Join Todd as he expands upon his epic feature article examining the history, diversity, and beauty of railroad bridges. Todd approaches the subject with an architect’s eye through his stunning photography, spanning the U.S. and parts of Europe. You’ll also learn about the common types of railroad bridges and advances in design, technology, and materials.
Tuesday, June 30, on Zoom, at 7 pm Central Time (8 pm Eastern, 6 pm Mountain, 5 pm Pacific)
Todd Halamka, a CRP&A board member, is a practicing architect and founder of Todd Halamka + Partners in downtown Chicago. He and his wife Susan have three grown children. An avid outdoorsman, Todd loves to travel, hike, fly-fish and commune with nature, preferably within eye- and ear-shot of a nearby railroad. His focus on railroad photography began in 2011, combining his lifelong love of trains and fascination with image-making.
This program will be recorded and made available at the Center’s YouTube page at @railphotoart.
