Zoom Program: A spooky evening with CRP&A and The Banshee Train

Join the Center for a spooky October 13th program … as we enjoy author Odds Bodkin’s 1995 children’s book The Banshee Train with a reading by new Editorial Associate, Justin Franz. Bodkin’s supernatural railroad story was beautifully illustrated by renowned artist Ted Rose, whose work will be highlighted during the show. In a one-time-only event, Franz will begin with a brief look at the lore of ghost trains before reading this beloved story.

Our Zoom exclusive will conclude with a look at some of our favorite ghostly railroad images from the CRP&A archive!

7:00 pm U.S. Central Time, on Zoom

(8 pm Eastern, 6 pm Mountain, and 5 pm Pacific)

Please note: This special one-time event will NOT be posted on the Center’s YouTube channel.

Ted Rose’s artwork brings a haunting, otherworldly quality to The Banshee Train; his work will be highlighted in this program.
A ghostly time-exposure photograph by Wallace Abbey, from the upcoming Zoom presentation. Shot at the Milwaukee Road depot in Minneapolis, this image captures the last run of the Soo Line’s Winnipeger passenger train, which ran between the Twin Cities to Winnipeg, Manitoba, under various names between 1904 and 1967.
